The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully completed accommodation arrangements for all Nigerian pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj. This announcement confirms that the agency secured necessary lodging in both Makkah and Madinah. Consequently, Nigeria has met the strict deadlines established by Saudi Arabian authorities.

In a formal statement released on February 2, 2026, NAHCON Chairman Professor Abdullahi Usman called this a pivotal moment. By finalizing these arrangements early, Nigeria has protected its operational interests. Furthermore, this ensures a smoother and more organized experience for all citizens participating in the pilgrimage.

Meeting Strict Saudi Timelines

The completion of this phase followed the successful digital upload of lodging details. Afterward, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj officially approved these records. This proactive approach aligns with directives from Vice President Kashim Shettima. He previously urged that all critical arrangements be finalized within the approved Saudi windows.

Key milestones in the preparation process include:

  • Makkah & Madinah Lodging: Full securing of high-capacity housing for thousands of pilgrims.
  • Approval of Details: Successful verification through the Saudi Ministry’s official digital channels.
  • Operational Security: Meeting these deadlines keeps Nigeria in high standing with international pilgrimage regulators.

A Collaborative Success for Pilgrims

Professor Usman credited this timely conclusion to a broad coalition of stakeholders. He specifically highlighted the “guidance and support” provided by the Vice President. Additionally, a high-level delegation sent to Saudi Arabia worked tirelessly to finalize the deals.

Contributing parties included:

  • The NAHCON Board and Staff: Managed all administrative and logistical coordination.
  • Nusuk Masar Team: Handled the digital integration of pilgrim data.
  • Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards: Ensured state-level alignment with federal goals.

Because of these efforts, Nigeria is now among the first nations to fulfill the Saudi requirements for the 2026 season.

Moving to the Next Phase

With housing logistics now finalized, NAHCON is shifting its focus. The commission is entering the next stage of the 2026 Hajj operations. This upcoming phase will likely involve transport logistics, health screenings, and the finalization of flight schedules.

“The commission now proceeds to the next phase of operational preparations,” the official statement concluded. This marks the end of a successful administrative sprint for the agency.
