The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will run from 26 July to 11 August 2024, featuring nearly 11,000 athletes competing across 329 events in 32 sports.
Venues Beyond Paris
While most competitions will take place in the French capital, Marseille will host sailing and football matches.
Sailing will also be staged at Débarcadère Teahupoo in French Polynesia, highlighting the Games’ global reach.
Affordable Ticketing Plans
Organisers have confirmed that out of 10 million Olympic tickets, around 5 million will cost 50 euros or less, ensuring affordability for fans.
For the Paralympics, which run from 28 August to 8 September 2024, 500,000 tickets will be priced at 15 euros.
Fans’ Role in the Games
“We want full stadiums, not only to enhance the spectator experience but also to inspire athletes,” said Michael Aloisio, chief of staff of the organising committee.
Committee president Tony Estanguet echoed this, stressing the importance of fans’ encouragement in motivating athletes to perform at their peak.
A Historic Opening Ceremony
The Seine River will be the centerpiece of the opening ceremony. A preview video revealed plans for a spectacular parade featuring dancers, holograms, and a flotilla of athletes, culminating at the Trocadéro Gardens.
Ticket Sales Timeline
- December 2022: Registration opens for the ticket lottery.
- February 2023: First wave of multi-event packs available.
- May 2023: Second draw allows purchase of individual event tickets.
- Late 2023: Remaining Olympic tickets released online.
- Before late 2023: Paralympic tickets go on sale.
