Kevin Spacey will return to the High Court in October 2026 to defend himself against civil lawsuits brought by three men who accuse him of sexual assault between 2000 and 2013.
A preliminary hearing Wednesday set a provisional trial date of 12 October 2026. The judge will later decide whether the three cases will be combined or heard separately.
The Three Claimants
- “LNP” – alleges around 12 deliberate assaults between 2000 and 2005
- “GHI” – says he suffered psychiatric harm and financial loss after an alleged incident in 2008 while Spacey was artistic director at the Old Vic
- Ruari Cannon – publicly named, claims Spacey groped him at a 2013 party after a theatre press night
Two of the men gave evidence in Spacey’s 2023 criminal trial, where he was found not guilty on all nine counts.
Spacey’s Response
The double Oscar winner strongly denies all allegations. He has already filed formal denials in two cases and will do so in the third shortly. Spacey called Ruari Cannon’s claim “ridiculous” and insists the incident “never happened.”
While he has previously admitted to past behaviour that was “too handsy,” he rejects any suggestion of assault.
Push for One Trial
Lawyers for the three claimants want a single combined hearing to avoid repeated testimony. A final decision on format is pending.
The civil cases mark the latest chapter in Spacey’s ongoing legal battles in the UK.
