A quiet Monday morning in Pakistan’s northwestern city exploded into violence when three suicide bombers launched a coordinated assault on the Frontier Constabulary headquarters.
How the Attack Unfolded
The militants struck at the main gate in a crowded residential district. Eyewitnesses reported heavy gunfire as the attackers forced their way inside before detonating powerful explosives.
Three paramilitary personnel died instantly. Five others sustained injuries.
Immediate Lockdown
Security forces sealed off the entire area within minutes. Army troops and police flooded the streets, blocking all access roads while searching for possible additional threats inside the compound.
“Everything stopped. Soldiers everywhere,” said local resident Safdar Khan, who watched the operation from his rooftop.
Ambulances raced the wounded to Lady Reading Hospital, where doctors confirmed two paramilitary soldiers are among those receiving treatment.
Part of a Growing Wave
The bombing is the latest escalation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where militant activity has surged following recent border skirmishes with Afghanistan.
As cleanup crews remove debris from the shattered entrance, Peshawar remains on high alert a stark reminder that peace in the region is still fragile.
