Just after 4 a.m. on Monday, armed bandits stormed Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga town, Kebbi State. Moving with military-style coordination, they opened fire, overpowered the guards, and breached the perimeter fence.
A Hero Falls, 25 Girls Vanish
Vice Principal Hassan Yakubu Makuku was shot dead while trying to shield the students. Another staff member was seriously wounded. In minutes, the attackers rounded up 25 terrified girls and disappeared into the darkness.
Massive Search Operation Launched
Police, army special forces, and local vigilantes have fanned out across surrounding forests and villages. Every known escape route is now under heavy patrol as the race to bring the students home begins.
