Victor Osimhen delivered a stellar performance in the UEFA Champions League on October 22, 2025.
The Nigerian striker scored two goals, leading Galatasaray to a crucial 3-1 win against Bodø/Glimt at Rams Park.
This victory gives the Turkish club back-to-back wins in the European competition. Importantly, it breaks a streak of 18 main-draw matches without such a feat.
Osimhen Strikes Early and Often
The stadium erupted just three minutes into the match. Mario Lemina provided a sharp pass to Osimhen, who finished precisely past keeper Nikita Haikin.
The striker continued to pressure the Norwegian side. He nearly scored again with two headers from Leroy Sané’s crosses.
Osimhen struck again in the 33rd minute. He capitalized on a poor backpass from Fredrik André Bjørkan, rounded the keeper, and slotted the ball into an empty net.
Bodø/Glimt Responds as Akgün Seals Win
The visitors did not give up after halftime. Bodø/Glimt’s Jens Petter Hauge shot wide, and Sondre Brunstad Fet hit the post.
However, Galatasaray remained lethal. Yunus Akgün scored the team’s third goal in the 60th minute, pouncing on an error by Haitam Aleesami.
Bodø/Glimt found a late consolation goal in the 76th minute. Andreas Helmersen headed in a cross from Bjørkan, but the comeback was too late.
Victor Osimhen Breaks Galatasaray Record
The brace was historic for Victor Osimhen.
He has now scored in seven consecutive European matches for Galatasaray. This achievement surpasses the previous club record held by Burak Yilmaz.
The 26-year-old, who signed a four-year deal in August, now has 11 career Champions League goals.
Furthermore, this win ended Bodø/Glimt’s five-game unbeaten streak in Europe.
A Statement Win for Galatasaray
While Osimhen was the star, the entire team performed well. Manager Okan Buruk’s side has now won 21 of its last 23 matches in all competitions.
The Nigerian striker’s form has also fueled his campaign for the CAF Player of the Year.
As Galatasaray advances in the group stage, all eyes are on their star forward to continue this incredible run.
