Tom Homan Bribery Case Tied to Dropped FBI Probe

Former Trump border chief Tom Homan allegedly accepted $50,000 in cash from an undercover FBI agent during a 2024 sting operation. The case, however, was shut down months later with no charges filed.

FBI Ends Investigation

According to insiders, FBI Director Kash Patel halted the inquiry last summer. Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche dismissed the case as a baseless review from the Biden era.

They insisted no evidence linked Homan to criminal activity and urged investigators to focus on national security threats instead.

How the Case Started

The probe originated in August 2024, late in President Joe Biden’s term. A separate security check raised suspicions after a witness repeatedly mentioned Homan allegedly taking bribes for immigration contracts.

That claim triggered an undercover operation. Investigators captured Homan on tape accepting the cash inside a Cava restaurant, sources said.

Homan’s Position and White House Defense

Homan currently oversees President Trump’s deportation program but does not manage federal contracts. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson praised him as a “dedicated public servant” and rejected all corruption claims.

Early Grand Jury Proceedings

A Texas grand jury began examining the case just before Trump’s return to the White House in January 2025. Emil Bove, then acting deputy attorney general and now a federal judge, reviewed the file in February. He called the probe a “deep state” attack engineered by career bureaucrats.

Political Reactions

Patel and Blanche accused Biden’s Justice Department of weaponizing investigations to target Trump’s allies. They pointed to the timing of the sting as politically motivated.

Inside the Sting Operation

In the FBI recording, Homan allegedly said he would hold the cash “in trust” until he left government service, according to a source familiar with the tape.

The case soon unraveled. Prosecutors dropped corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams around the same time, sparking resignations from the Justice Department’s anti-corruption unit, which was later scaled back.

Homan’s Career Background

Homan previously served as acting ICE director under both Trump and former President Barack Obama. During Trump’s years out of office, he ran a consulting firm that advised companies on securing immigration-related government contracts.
