The United Auto Workers (UAW) union announced on Friday that members at GE Aerospace facilities in Evendale, Ohio, and Erlanger, Kentucky, have reached a tentative contract agreement with the company.
The union confirmed that members will vote on ratification on September 19, 2025. Until then, picket lines at both sites will remain active.
GE Aerospace Responds
In a statement, GE Aerospace expressed satisfaction with the progress made, noting that the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to working closely with employees to continue serving its customers effectively.
Background of the Strike
The tentative deal comes after more than 600 workers walked off the job in late August, citing stalled contract negotiations.
The strike added to a growing wave of labor actions across the aerospace and aviation industries, where unions have been pressing for improved wages, benefits, and job protections.
Labor Movements Across the Industry
In recent years, pilots, machinists, flight attendants, and engineers have joined the push for stronger contracts amid rising demand for skilled labor.
The UAW strike at GE Aerospace highlighted how critical these negotiations have become in ensuring fair treatment and compensation for workers.
Key GE Facilities
GE Aerospace’s Evendale plant produces marine and industrial engines, including those supplied to the U.S. Navy. Meanwhile, the Erlanger facility manufactures parts that support several of the company’s engine plants.
