Realme

Chinese smartphone maker Realme has confirmed it will fully merge operations into sister company Oppo, becoming a sub-brand under the Oppo name starting immediately.

The announcement, made Wednesday, is designed to cut overlapping costs and combine strengths across the two labels.

Goals of the Merger

By sharing resources, the brands plan to:

  • Trim spending on marketing, distribution and logistics
  • Speed up product development with joint engineering teams
  • Boost competitiveness against rivals worldwide

Strong Footprint Remains

Realme keeps its popularity in markets like India, Southeast Asia and Europe, where it has built a loyal following for affordable devices.

Both companies belong to BBK Electronics, the same parent group behind Vivo and other consumer tech names. The change is part of BBK’s wider effort to streamline its brands in a tough global phone market.
