Egypt coach Hossam Hassan has told his players to stay sharp ahead of Monday’s Group B decider against Angola, insisting there are “no weak sides left in African football.”
The Pharaohs have already booked their place in the Round of 16, but Hassan wants a win to finish as group winners and keep momentum going into the knockouts.
Egypt’s Perfect Start
Mohamed Salah and company have won both games so far:
- 2-1 against Zimbabwe
- 1-0 over South Africa (Salah penalty)
Only one goal conceded, showing strong defence to match their attack. One change forced: defender Mohamed Hany is suspended after a red card last time out.
Angola Fighting for Survival
Angola sit third with one point and need a victory over the seven-time champions to stand any chance of advancing. Coach Patrice Beaumelle admitted Egypt’s squad depth makes them “like facing two top teams in one.”
