El Baz and Cherkab Triumph at Second Darb Race in Dar Bouazza

Youssef El Baz and Lamyaa Cherkab achieved decisive victories at the second edition of the Darb Race half-marathon. The event drew a massive crowd to the scenic coastal town of Dar Bouazza, Morocco. Over 3,000 runners, ranging from elite professionals to eager amateurs, lined up for the challenge. Notably, organizers waived entry fees, creating an inclusive atmosphere for the entire sporting community.

21km Half-Marathon Results

In the men’s 21-kilometer main event, Youssef El Baz executed a commanding performance to secure first place. Following closely behind, Hassan Benbella claimed the runner-up spot. Mohamed Nait Ali rounded out the podium, finishing in third place.

Meanwhile, Lamyaa Cherkab dominated the women’s field to take home the title. Kimberly Chriscaden finished second, showing strong determination. Consequently, Douss Bennani Sonia secured the third-place position.

Following his win, El Baz described the Darb Race as a vital component of his training regimen. He emphasized that this victory serves as excellent preparation for his upcoming competitive schedule.

Star Power Highlights 10km Event

The shorter 10-kilometer course also generated significant excitement among spectators. This buzz was largely driven by the participation of global track icon Soufiane El Bakkali.

Ultimately, Adnane Mhamdi emerged as the winner in the men’s 10km category. On the women’s side, Rania Bassiri crossed the line first. Bassiri expressed immense pride in her performance after securing the top spot.

Coastal Scenery and Logistics

Operating under the theme “The Sea, Sun, and Run,” the event showcased the natural beauty of the coastline. Ahmed Iraqui, President of the Darb Event, commended the successful organization. He specifically highlighted the impressive turnout from local residents.

Furthermore, the logistical setup ensured a premium experience for all participants. The course was fully certified, featuring comprehensive medical support and refreshment stations. Organizers also provided entertainment zones and a dedicated walking circuit for casual visitors.

The festivities concluded with a formal awards ceremony. Local officials gathered to celebrate the athletes’ resilience and the event’s overall success.
