Fans hoping to catch Boluwatife Balogun on stage this holiday season will face disappointment. The rising teenage artist, known professionally as Champz, is officially rejecting all performance invitations to focus on his personal growth.

Oluwanishola Ogudu, his mother and manager, confirmed the strategic pause on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Consequently, the 14-year-old will remain off the live circuit for the immediate future.

Prioritizing Development Over Fame

Despite a surge in popularity following his debut, Boluwatife Balogun is choosing the classroom over the concert hall. His management team emphasizes that the decision is rooted in protecting his childhood and ensuring long-term artistic viability.

This move is significant because it counters the industry trend of rushing viral sensations onto the stage before they are ready.

Ogudu outlined three core reasons for declining the offers:

  • Education First: The team is prioritizing his schooling and personal maturity.

  • Skill Refinement: Time is being dedicated to vocal training behind the scenes.

  • Strategic Patience: The family insists on a slow, steady rise rather than instant exposure.

In her statement to organizers and fans, Ogudu expressed gratitude for the interest but stood firm on the developmental plan.

“We’re building patiently and intentionally and look forward to future opportunities when the timing is right,” Ogudu stated.

New Music Slated for 2026

While live appearances are off the table, Boluwatife Balogun is not stepping away from music entirely. The young artist is currently active in the studio, working on fresh material.

According to the update, fans can expect a new project release in 2026. This follows the momentum of his November 2025 debut EP, Champion’s Arrival, which successfully introduced him as a serious talent beyond his lineage as Wizkid’s son.

By prioritizing “walking before running,” his team aims to build a legacy that stands on its own merit.
