Zaporizhzhia strikes

A wave of aerial attacks has devastated residential sectors in southern Ukraine. Specifically, at least 35 people sustained injuries during the latest Zaporizhzhia strikes.

Officials confirmed that five children are among the wounded.

Consequently, rescue teams are racing against time to locate survivors. They are currently navigating unstable structures ignited by the blasts.

Widespread Damage to Infrastructure

The bombardment targeted multiple civilian zones. According to reports, the missiles hit residential buildings, critical utility sites, and an educational facility.

Meanwhile, the explosions triggered fires across the city, complicating emergency response efforts.

Odesa Endures Record Blackout

Furthermore, the humanitarian crisis has deepened in the south. The port city of Odesa is now facing its longest power outage since the invasion began.

This energy collapse follows a massive barrage on December 13.

Currently, the situation in Odesa remains dire:

  • Essential Failures: Thousands lack heat, water, and electricity.

  • Emergency Power: Hospitals rely solely on backup generators.

  • Grid Repair: Engineers are struggling to fix the massive damage.

Stalemate on the Southern Front

However, the violence is not limited to the cities. Combat has intensified along the frontlines near Huliaipole and Orikhiv.

Russian troops launched concentrated assaults in these areas. Nevertheless, they have failed to secure new territory.

Additionally, the open steppe has transformed into a drone battlefield. Ukrainian operators are successfully disrupting enemy maneuvers, halting troop movements across the exposed landscape.
