Al Hoceima

Education officials in Al Hoceima province have ordered the immediate closure of every public and private school until further notice due to dangerous weather sweeping the region.

Why Classes Are Cancelled

A powerful storm bringing torrential rain, strong winds and plunging temperatures prompted Thursday’s emergency decision. Authorities say the safety of students, teachers and staff comes first while roads remain at risk of flooding and landslides.

No Reopening Date Yet

Schools will stay shut until conditions improve and daily travel is deemed safe. Parents have been told to keep children home and follow official updates.

Wider Northern Morocco on Alert

Al Hoceima is part of a larger red-weather zone across northern Morocco, with heavy rain, snow in the mountains and a sharp cold snap. Emergency crews are on standby, and teams will inspect school buildings and routes before any resumption of classes.

Stay tuned to local channels for the latest reopening announcements.
