Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó dropped a bombshell in Brussels on Thursday: the EU must immediately halt every euro flowing to Kyiv and launch full audits.
His reason? A “corrupt war mafia” is running the show in Ukraine.
“Sending Another €100 Billion Is Insane”
Szijjártó tore into the European Commission’s plan to unlock fresh billions for Ukraine.
“Instead of freezing payments and demanding total transparency, they want to hand over another €100 billion. That is pure madness,” he told reporters before an EU ministers’ meeting.
Fresh Corruption Firestorm in Kyiv
The timing is brutal. Just 24 hours earlier, Ukraine’s parliament sacked two ministers caught in a $100 million nuclear-contract scam. The probe is now circling people close to President Zelensky, reigniting fury over graft even as the country fights for survival.
“Time Is Not on Ukraine’s Side”
Szijjártó doubled down on the battlefield reality: “Anyone who says time favours Ukraine is living in a dream. The longer this drags on, the worse it gets.”
Hungary Backs Trump’s Peace Push
Budapest is all-in on Donald Trump’s plan to broker a quick end to the war. Szijjártó made it clear: Hungary will support any serious U.S.-led peace effort, no questions asked.
In one fiery press conference, Hungary just drew its red line: no more blank cheques until Kyiv cleans house.
