Tinubu Jets to Historic G20 in SA + AU-EU Summit in Angola

President Bola Tinubu departs Abuja on Wednesday for back-to-back global summits that will put Nigeria centre-stage on the world map.

First Stop: History-Making G20 in South Africa (22–23 Nov)

For the first time ever, the G20 Leaders’ Summit is happening on African soil – Johannesburg Expo Centre, hosted by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Theme: “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability”

Top of the agenda:

  • Fixing global debt and development finance
  • Climate action and clean energy
  • Food security and critical minerals
  • Future of work and artificial intelligence

The African Union joins as a full G20 member, sitting equal with the European Union. President Tinubu will also hold one-on-one talks to push Nigeria’s economic reforms and regional security plans.

Next Stop: AU-EU Summit in Luanda, Angola (24–25 Nov)

Straight after Johannesburg, Tinubu flies to Angola his first official visit since taking office for the African Union–European Union summit.

  • Agribusiness & manufacturing
  • Creative industries and youth innovation
