Napoli Suffer Major Blow: Anguissa Out 3-4 Months

ANGUISSA

SSC Napoli’s injury crisis has deepened further with the confirmation that key midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa will be sidelined for an extended period due to a serious hamstring problem.

The Cameroon international picked up the injury during the recent international break while representing his country. Although early reports suggested the issue might not be too severe, detailed scans carried out by the club’s medical staff have shown a significant tear in his left hamstring.

Napoli have not put an exact return date on the 29-year-old, but those close to the situation expect him to miss between three and four months of action.

Mounting Problems in Midfield and Attack

Anguissa now becomes the latest high-profile name added to a worrying injury list at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The club is already without several important players who are struggling with similar muscle problems.

The absence of so many regulars has left the squad severely stretched heading into a demanding winter schedule, piling extra pressure on the remaining players and the coaching staff.

What Anguissa Brings to the Team

This season, Anguissa has been one of Napoli’s most consistent and influential performers in the center of the park. Before the injury, he had appeared in fifteen matches across domestic and European competitions, scoring four times and setting up two more goals. His blend of power, technical ability, and defensive coverage has been a cornerstone of the team’s midfield setup.

Double Blow for Club and Country

The timing could hardly be worse. Napoli will have to cope without one of their engine-room leaders during a crucial phase of the campaign. At the same time, Cameroon have been dealt a huge setback ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off next month.

Anguissa’s physical presence and leadership were expected to play a major role for the Indomitable Lions, and his absence will be keenly felt as the defending champions look to retain their title.

Everyone at the club and in Cameroon will now be hoping for a smooth and speedy recovery, but for the moment, this is another bitter pill for Napoli supporters to swallow as their team faces an increasingly tough road ahead.
