Natacha Akide, the media star and digital influencer widely recognized as Symply Tacha, recorded an outstanding achievement this week. She officially claimed two new Guinness World Records: one for the highest number of cosmetic makeovers finished within 8 hours and another for the most completed over a 24-hour duration.
A certified judge from the international record-keeping organization verified the outcome of the challenge. Tacha successfully exceeded the prior records in both the short- and long-duration categories.
The Lagos Marathon
The record-setting effort took place on October 11 at a specific makeup venue in Lagos. Over the initial 8 hours, Tacha completed transformations for 82 individuals.
She then extended her run, concluding with a remarkable total of 144 makeovers within the full 24-hour period.
The event encountered major unforeseen difficulties. These included a major rainstorm and recurring electrical problems. In spite of these issues, Tacha displayed significant dedication and persistence throughout the attempt.
“A nine-hour storm absolutely wrecked our entire setup,” Tacha explained. “The rain fell so heavily that monitors, screens, and signage were ripped apart.” She added that the team was forced to literally “rebuild the venue mid-event.”
Overcoming Technical Obstacles
Problems with electricity continued to plague the extended challenge. Tacha highlighted the frequent interruptions:
“During the 24-hour attempt, the electricity failed multiple times. The venue went dark three or four times, but I refused to pause my work.”
Her support team responded swiftly. They employed cell phone illumination to maintain visibility, allowing Tacha to continue applying makeup even without standard lighting.
“This goal went beyond mere cosmetic artistry,” she declared. “It transformed into a test of proving that absolutely nothing could prevent us from succeeding.”
The obvious skill and immense resolve of the star were evident in the final, beautiful results achieved for the women. They expressed tremendous delight with their new appearances.
The television personality gave sincere appreciation to her crew, the models who volunteered, and her followers for their unwavering support.
