The Italian football club Atalanta finalized its coaching search.
They officially designated Raffaele Palladino as the team’s new head coach. The Italian strategist committed to a contract that extends his term with the club until June 2027.
The 41-year-old takes over from Ivan Juric, who was relieved of his duties earlier on Monday. Juric’s brief tenure concluded after only 11 matches into the 2025-26 Serie A campaign. His dismissal followed a convincing 3-0 defeat at home against the newly promoted side, Sassuolo, on Sunday.
A Fresh Tactical Approach for La Dea
Palladino’s move to Bergamo marks the beginning of a fresh strategic phase for the team, which fans affectionately call “La Dea.” The club aims to maintain its momentum in both the domestic league and subsequent European competitions.
He joins Atalanta following a successful stint at Fiorentina. He originally signed a two-year deal there in 2024. During his period with the Viola (Fiorentina), Palladino earned acclaim for emphasizing an attacking tactical philosophy. He also focused extensively on nurturing young players, despite his challenging departure from the club.
Atalanta’s Chief Executive Officer, Luca Percassi, publicly affirmed his belief in the new manager’s leadership and strategic vision.
The club explicitly confirmed Palladino’s agreement is secured through June 30, 2027. His most pressing responsibility is to successfully navigate Atalanta through its current Serie A fixtures and its scheduled participation in European tournaments.
