The escalating marital dispute between actress Regina Daniels and Senator Ned Nwoko erupted into public view over the weekend.
The couple exchanged a series of highly charged accusations involving drug use, family interference, and claims of emotional manipulation.
Senator Nwoko’s Account of Harassment
Senator Nwoko used his social media platform late Saturday night to present his side of the conflict. He accused Daniels’ brother, Sammy West, of repeatedly creating disturbances at the family home. Nwoko specifically detailed a confrontation that occurred at 4 a.m. a month ago.
“Just four weeks ago, I woke up around 4 a.m. and realised that Regina was in my room and on the phone. She was clearly high…” Nwoko wrote.
The Senator immediately ordered a driver to take the individual accompanying Daniels away. Minutes later, Sammy West arrived at the compound shouting.
“Thirty minutes later, Sammy came to my house shouting and demanding that I come downstairs to face him,” Nwoko recalled.
Nwoko described the shocking nature of the incident. He admitted instructing security personnel “to physically push him out of my compound.” Nwoko questioned the audacity, suggesting, “Without the influence of drugs, could he have been so bold and disrespectful?”
The Senator also released security footage purportedly showing West’s forcible removal by guards. He alleged West frequently visited the residence to harass his staff and children whenever the Senator was away.
Nwoko detailed the financial support he provided: he claimed he funded West’s university education, music equipment, and an Abuja apartment. Furthermore, he stated he transferred N125 million to Daniels’ mother, Rita.
Daniels Rejects Narrative, Alleges Encouraged Drug Use
Daniels countered fiercely on Sunday morning, addressing the claims on her social media page. She admitted to past substance use but completely rejected Nwoko’s version of the events.
“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she questioned. She accused him of deliberately weaponizing the issue: “The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public, shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue!”
She leveled a powerful counter-accusation, suggesting Nwoko actively encouraged her intoxication for private reasons. “You say you want me to go for rehab but you are the same Ned who always wanted me high because, in your words, I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high. You liked me that way because it made me wild and romantic exactly how you wanted me to be.”
Daniels accused the Senator of attempting to isolate her: “You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me… Then, when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you because I will have nowhere else to go.”
Claim of Non-Registered Marriage
The actress made a striking legal declaration, stating their union was not a court-registered marriage. She claimed the relationship became non-consensual in its later phases.
“No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the value of the time I gave you, my prime years, my energy, and the career opportunities I sacrificed while being with you.”
She concluded with a clear demand for separation: “And for the record, I would have filed for divorce long ago if there had ever been a legal marriage between us. We were never married in any court of law… Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”
This severe dispute follows weeks of reports about Daniels’ marital problems, which began when she alleged domestic violence.
Nwoko refuted those claims, blaming her behavior on substance abuse and insisting she undergo rehabilitation.
