The Promise of the Island
The moment you receive this award, your journey is set. The scholarship package removes the financial barriers standing between you and your educational goals:
- Tuition Fees: Say goodbye to worry, as all your tuition fees are fully covered.
- A Living Stipend: You’ll receive a monthly contribution to help cover your living expenses while you focus on your studies.
- Travel Covered: The journey starts with a fully paid return airfare ticket via the most economical route taking you to Mauritius at the beginning and bringing you home upon successful completion.
This financial support is available for students at every level, from Diploma and Undergraduate degrees right up through Masters, MPhil, and PhD programmes.
Your First Step: The Nominating Agency
Your exciting journey to Mauritius begins not on a plane, but at a desk in your home country.
A crucial step: You must never send your application directly to any Mauritian university. Instead, you need to connect with the Nominating Agency—the official gateway in your country, often housed within the Ministry of Education.
This agency holds the key: they review and select candidates before nominating them to the Mauritian Government.
Due to the high demand, your country’s agency can endorse a maximum of fifteen candidates in total (five for each level: Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD/MPhil). Your success depends entirely on navigating this domestic selection process.
The Eligibility Checklist
Before you can be nominated, you need to ensure your personal timeline aligns with the scholarship’s criteria:
- The Age Factor: If you are pursuing an Undergraduate degree, you must be between 18 and 25 years old (you must not turn 26 before January 1, 2027). For those starting a PhD, you must not have reached 40 years old by January 1, 2027.
- Academic Application: You must have already successfully secured a place (or applied for admission) in a full-time, on-campus program at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for the 2026 academic year.
- Time Commitment: The scholarship will cover your entire course duration, up to the maximum limit specified for your program.
Submitting Your Story
Your application package must be flawlessly prepared to pass through the Nominating Agency:
- The Form: Use only the official application form. Fill out the entire document electronically before you print and sign it.
- The Endorsement: The most critical paper is Section 5 of your application form. This section must be completed and endorsed by the designated Nominating Agency in your country. This endorsement certifies that you are an official candidate.
- The Channel: Remember, your complete application must be submitted solely through this official Nominating Agency.
This incredible opportunity, which does not require an IELTS or similar English test, is anticipated to close on March 27, 2026.
