The long wait is finally over. Celebrity chef Hilda Baci recently held two heavy plaques in her hands, marking the triumphant conclusion of a two-year-long journey.
She officially received her second accolade from Guinness World Records. The new title recognizes her colossal achievement: creating the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
The organization formally confirmed the record after months of verification. The challenge involved cooking a massive 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof during a public cookout event in Lagos last September.
This second plaque arrives approximately a year and a half after her initial, history-making triumph. Her first title, earned in May 2023, came from successfully completing a grueling 93-hour, 11-minute non-stop cooking marathon.
Consequently, Hilda Baci is now formally recognized as Nigeria’s first and most decorated chef, holding multiple Guinness World Records simultaneously.
Two Plaques, One Story of Faith and Fire
Hilda Baci couldn’t contain her joy as she shared photographs of both prestigious plaques on her social media channels. The images captured not just her success, but a personal journey powered by faith and national pride. She noted that the story of her ambition had reached over five billion people globally, thanks to her corporate partnership.
She penned a message reflecting on the culmination of her effort:
“Your plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. And not just any records two of the biggest culinary records ever set.”
She emphasized the profound impact of the culinary feats: “Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves. This story reached over 5 billion people. It reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”
Baci expressed deep gratitude for achieving double success, framing it in spiritual terms. “A two time Guinness World Record Holder !!! Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion… And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7.”
Meticulous Standards and Charitable Giving
The immense challenge of validating the world’s largest dish required meticulous planning and execution. To meet all of the official verification standards, every single portion of the enormous jollof rice dish was carefully accounted for and managed.
Furthermore, the entire creation was distributed to the event guests and various charitable organizations located across the city. This commitment to both world-class standards and philanthropy cemented the goodwill surrounding her achievement.
