Meta Platforms announced a new translation option for WhatsApp on September 23, 2025, to simplify conversations across languages for its over 3 billion users.
The tool lets people read messages in their preferred language without leaving the app.
Language Support
The feature starts with 6 languages on Android devices and 19 on iPhones. More options will come soon. It covers one-on-one talks, group discussions, and channel posts.
How It Works
To use it, users hold down on a message and select “Translate.” The app changes the text to the chosen language.
On Android, you can turn on auto-translation for whole chats, so new messages show up translated right away.
Privacy First
Meta stressed that translations happen on your phone, so WhatsApp can’t access the content. This keeps chats private and secure.
User Benefits
This update helps friends and family connect better, no matter what language they speak. It’s a step toward making global communication smoother and more inclusive.
