The Arts Community Initiative (AACI), the driving force behind Kulture Fest, made a significant move to elevate their upcoming event by visiting the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) at its new corporate office in Lekki, Lagos. The visit aimed to forge a partnership with PMAN to enhance the impact of Kulture Fest 2023, a vibrant celebration of arts and culture in Alimosho.
A Strategic Courtesy Visit
Led by Team Leader Thompson Ubong, who spoke on behalf of AACI convener Chief Obani Anthony Oluwabiyi Boyede Greenlyte, the delegation expressed admiration for PMAN President Pretty Okafor’s leadership. Ubong highlighted Okafor’s efforts in steering the association toward supporting musicians and fostering talent development. The visit served as an opportunity for AACI to introduce Kulture Fest, described as the largest art gathering in Alimosho, to PMAN’s leadership.
The AACI team outlined their vision for Kulture Fest 2023, emphasizing the need for collaboration to ensure its success. They sought PMAN’s guidance on upcoming projects and recommendations for sponsorship to amplify the event’s reach. Kulture Fest, an offshoot of the Okun Alimosho initiative by Afrostrength Limited, is designed to celebrate Alimosho’s rich cultural heritage while engaging youths through music, dance, sports, and business competitions to promote social and economic development.
PMAN’s Commitment to Grassroots Talent
In response, Pretty Okafor warmly welcomed the AACI’s initiative and underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing Nigeria’s creative industry. He shared PMAN’s mission to connect with grassroots communities through a Talent Hunt & Promotion Campaign. This initiative aligns closely with Kulture Fest’s goals, as it aims to discover and nurture emerging musical talent across Nigeria.
Okafor expressed PMAN’s enthusiasm for supporting Kulture Fest 2023, noting that the event provides a platform to showcase up-and-coming artists from Alimosho and beyond. He emphasized that partnering with AACI would strengthen PMAN’s outreach efforts, creating opportunities for young musicians to gain visibility and support. This synergy promises to make Kulture Fest a pivotal event for talent discovery and cultural celebration.
A Symbol of Appreciation
The visit concluded with a heartfelt gesture from AACI, as the team presented Pretty Okafor with a piece of artwork. This token symbolized gratitude for his dedication to Nigeria’s art community and marked the beginning of what both parties hope will be a fruitful collaboration. The exchange highlighted the shared commitment of AACI and PMAN to uplift artists and preserve cultural heritage.
Looking Ahead to Kulture Fest 2023
Kulture Fest, set to take place later in 2023, is poised to be a landmark event in Alimosho, fostering community engagement and showcasing the area’s artistic talent. With PMAN’s potential involvement, the festival could gain access to a broader network of musicians and resources, enhancing its impact. The partnership discussions reflect a shared vision of empowering young people and celebrating Nigeria’s cultural diversity through the arts.
This collaboration could pave the way for a dynamic festival that not only entertains but also inspires positive change. As AACI and PMAN work together, Kulture Fest 2023 promises to be a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and community spirit.
